About us

tenuta-Guazzaura The Counts Brondelli di Brondello are an old Piedmontese family. They originate from the area of Cuneo from the Brondello village in the Bronda Valley where one can still see the remains of the medieval castle.

As early as 1138 Enrico di Brondello is mentioned in the land registry as having bequeathed land to the abbey of Staffarda.

In 1696 Luca Brondelli was raised to the rank of count, taking the title Conte di Brondello

In 1836 Tenuta Guazzaura in Serralunga came into the possession of the Counts of Brondello as part of the dowry of Lidia PortaBava on her marriage to Giovanni Battista di Brondello.

Tenuta Guazzaura has been the property of the Counts of Brondello since then.

Today Luca Brondelli runs the 370acre estate, growing crops, sugarbeet, soya and, of course, wine.

The vineyards are optimally situated for the production of the highest quality of the grape varieties Barbera DOC, Grignolino DOC and Pinot Nero.

In 1998 Luca and his Austrian wife Marie-Helen renovated an old farmhouse on the estate. “Ca’ d’la Nina” now offers great comfort with a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.

Luca and Marie-Helen strive to take great care of their guests themselves and are happy to organise wine tastings, truffle hunts and culinary and cultural excursions.
